Kingfisher Airlines Employees turn against Mallya

After facing a lot irregularity in salary, the employees of Kingfisher Airlines have lost all patience. As a last major they have threatened to disrupt the upcoming IPL matches to protest against their flamboyant Boss Vijay Mallya, who owns the Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) team.

Some of the employees even demand prosecution of Mallya. They argue that if Gopal Kanda, promoter of MDLR airlines, can be prosecuted for suicide of one of his employees, Mallya should also be prosecuted since if he will not pay their salary their family members will have to commit suicide.
Kingfisher Employees threatened to disrupt the IPL match too. Last time, when Formula 1 race was being organized in India, Kingfisher management paid their salary of one month and assured to pay the dues in installments afraid of the protests. They want to take the same course for the IPL to put pressure on the company. They have threatened to protest outside the venue wherever RCB team plays their matches. More than that, they urged RCB players to boycott Mallya’s team and asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) not to allow RCB to participate in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).

The protesting employees have also appealed the government to amend labor law to punish an offender with criminal punishment in the case of non-payment of salary. Even they expect the Supreme Court of India to take suo motu steps in this matter to bring an overall reform for the working class.

The employees have written letters to the President, the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of India, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Arun Mishra for an early intervention.
