A Tribute to Legendary Director Yash Raj Chopra

TNI Bureau: A shocked Bollywood and fans across the world paid rich tribute to the legend, who changed the landscape of Hindi cinema with his romatic style. Director Yash Raj Chopra, who died at the age of 80 yesterday, will always remain in the heart and mind of the people.

Yash Raj Chopra was famous for giving the Bollywood hit couples. He was suffering from dengue and admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai a few days ago. He breathed his last yesterday.

Yash Chopra had celebrated his 80th birthday on September 27. His last directed Hindi film ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ (Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles) is set to release on Diwali 2012. He had announced his retirement from film direction last month.

Born in Lahore 80 years ago, Yash Chopra made his directorial debut with ‘Dhool Ka Phool’ in 1959. He also directed movies like Daag: A Poem of Love (1973), Deewar (1975), Kabhi Kabhie (1976) and Trishul (1978), Silsila (1981), Chandni (1989). He also directed Waqt, Lamhe, Darr, Dil To Paagal Hai and Veer Zara.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Big B Amitabh Bachchan and many other eminent personalities from all walks of life have mourned the demise of Yash Chopra. His last rites will be performed in Mumbai today.
