Akshay Kumar’s ‘Joker’ to be released Tomorrow

TNI Bureau: Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha starrer fantasy adventure ‘Joker’ is all set to go on floors tomorrow. This is the second film of Akki with Dabangg girl Sonakshi after ‘Rowdy Rathore’ this year.

UTV Motion Pictures & Hari Om Entertainment jointly presents A Three’s Company production JOKER and the film is directed by Sirish Kunder and Produced by Cape of Good Films Pvt. Ltd along with Farah Khan.

‘Joker’ is written, edited & directed by editor turned director Shirish Kunder who happens to be Farah Khan’s husband. The film is Akshay Kumar’s 100th movie and Shirish Kunder’s third film in a row with Akshay Kumar. This will be Sonakshi Sinha’s second screen sharing with Akshay Kumar after ‘Rowdy Rathore’.

Story of ‘Joker’ is something like this. In 1947 when the maps of India and Pakistan were being drawn, an oversight ensured that the village of Paglapur didn’t find a place in either country. The village had the distinction of housing the largest mental asylum in the region and in the fight that ensued during partition, the asylum inmates broke loose, drove away the villagers and established their own republic in Paglapur, the village on whose backdrop the film has mostly been shot.

Agastya (Akshay Kumar) a researcher probing the existence of aliens in the universe comes to Pagalpur along with his wife Diva (Sonakshi Sinha). The story revolves round these two pivotal characters.

Chitrangada Singh has performed a special item number in the movie on song titled ‘Kafirana’.

Music of ‘Joker’ has been scored by G.V. Prakash Kumar and Gaurav Dagaonkar and lyrics penned by Shirish Kunder.

The film stars Shreyas Talpade, Minissha Lamba, Javed Jaffrey, Pitabosh, Vindu Dara Singh and Asrani apart from Akshya Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. Also Farah Khan will be seen in a special appearance in the film.

Releasing alongside “Joker” on the same day is Saurabh Shukla’s comedy dramma “I M 24″ and director Nila Madhab Panda’s “Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid”.
