Grand Masti – A Complete Review

Indra Kumar’s adult comedy “Grand Masti” is certainly not funny but can be tagged as ‘cheap’ for its double meaning dialogues. The sequel of the ‘Masti’ (2004) hit the screens with a grand opening today.

gm2Plot: The film promises bigger and funnier masti with more of ‘masala’ in it. Three married guys Vivek Oberoi as Meet, Aftab Shivdasani as Prem and Riteish Deshmukh as Amar go out on fun experience in their college reunion in Shree Lalchand University of Technology and Science (SLUTS), finally to be trapped in a danger.

The three men go around seeking sex on the campus with three women named Rose, Mary and Marlow. From the very beginning of the film only one can clearly understand what he is going to watch in the coming 2 hours and 10 minutes. The film opens with the scene – Amar, Meet and Prem are teaching their juniors how to have a good time at college. So when they say ‘A stands for’, the camera zooms into the girls’ backside and there is a montage of tight close up of girls wearing hot pants. Then they move on to the letter ‘B’ and the camera focuses on the women’s chest. And the scenes go on.

Review – ‘Grand Masti’ is sated with sexual intimations to evoke laughter via double meaning dialogues. The film severely misses a story, but no one should expect a story from such films. The film somehow offers the message that men are horny beasts and women are nothing more than available creatures to provide pleasure.

The women, all of them, including the junior actors and the extras — seem like they’re straight out of some male fantasy as they walk around in little or no clothes.

After watching the film something like this comes to mind – why these young actresses play out such undignified roles to make their presence felt in the industry. And the actors, who seem fairly well-to-do in life, shouldn’t take up these type films.

Verdict: The film at many places offers the essence of watching a porn film. If you enjoy the ‘A’ listed comedy and want to laugh on its comedy, the movie is a hit for you and go for it, otherwise not.
