TNI Bureau: In a significant development last night, the Madras High Court has lifted the ban on Kamal Haasan’s Rs 95-crore movie, “Vishwaroopam”. The film should be released across all theatres in Tamil Nadu today. However, the Tamil Nadu government has decided to appeal against the order.
It is not immediate known whether the theatres would dare to release the film today in the wake of strong opposition and protests from the Muslim groups. Also, the state government has not yet committed on high security for the release of the movie.
Since the Tamil Nadu government had immediately appealed against the verdict of the Madras High Court, a division bench of the HC would hear that petition later today.
