Shahid Kapoor’s fans would be disappointed to watch his latest film “Phata Poster Nikhla Hero” directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The actor is trying to entertain the audiences with his comic skills, but in vain. After his blockbuster “Jab We Met” released in 2007, he is still struggling to make a big hit in the industry.
The film “Phata Poster Nikhla Hero” is a tale of an inspiring actor Sahid, who is playing a police officer role for some reasons, gets misunderstood as a real police. He lands in a series of situations. Amidst lots of confusions and problems he finds his lady love Ileana D’cruz and makes time to sing songs for her.
Director Rajkumar Santoshi (last directed Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in 2009 Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif) has attempted to entertain the audiences, but the film did not manage to get appreciation from the critics. The film does not offer anything to laugh but Sahid is shinning and he is the only reason that the audiences are in queue in front of the theatres to watch the film.

The music by Pritam earned not that position that his tunes usually do in the industry. Some numbers like ‘Hey Mr DJ’ and ‘Khali peeli rokne ka nai’ have gained popularity. Nargis Fakhri has made her debut as an item girl with a special number called, Dhating naach, in this film.
The film managed to draw the attention for the publicity by Sahid (last seen in Teri Meri Kahaani; 2012) and his co-star Ileana D’Cruz (last seen in Barfi!; 2012) despite poor storyline. Santoshi, who has made a film like Andaz Apna Apna (1994), this time, has failed to meet the expectation of the audiences.
