TNI Bureau: Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Barfi’, whose trailer and songs have earned the positive reviews by the critics, will go on floors on September 14. The Best thing to watch in the film is Priyanka Chopra’s fabulous performance as a girl with ‘autism’ besides the strong acting of Ranbir Kapoor.

Story of ‘Barfi’ revolves around 3 lead characters, Barfi (Ranbir Kapoor), Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra) and Shruti (Ileana D’Cruz). Barfi is a hearing and speech impaired boy of Nepal origin.  The film has been made in the backdrop of Darjeeling in 1970. It is all about the love of three young people.

Barfi is always ready with a prank up his sleeve and also is the talk of the town. He falls in love with Shruti, but Shruti could not make it and marries a ‘normal’ man to lead a normal life. But eventually after a long time once again fate makes both of them come closer, but now Barfi is in love with Jhilmil, who is on the run from the police.

Barfi is desperately seeking Jhilmil, who has gone missing. But in the search for the girl, Shruti realizes that she is still in love with him and so now must take a fresh decision.

Burfi’s parent given name is Murphy in the film. But for using this tag, the film has faced legal trouble for using ‘Murphy’, as it refers to the Murphy baby. Mumbai-based company Murphy Enterprises, who holds copyright of the Murphy baby, has reportedly sent a legal notice to the producers of the film, UTV Motion Pictures and Ishana Films.

Anurag Basu directed this upcoming film’s 2.5 minutes official trailer was released on YouTube on 2nd July 2012 and received immense admiration from both critics and audiences.

However, some film pundits opine that the film has been inspired from a 2001 French movie named ‘Amélie’.

Music of the film has been composed by Pritam and most of the songs have acknowledged wider reception.

Yes, ‘Barfi’ is a simple but entertaining story not with much action but lot of comedy by Ranbir. The Kapoor offspring has maintained his ancestral glory intact and his acting can convince you that he deserves to be the grandson of Raj Kapoor, the icon of Indian cinema.

‘Barfi’ wants to convey the message, “Don’t worry, and be Barfi (that is being happy).”
