TNI Bureau: An actor could be a director, but hardly a director could be considered as a good actor. Choreographer Farah Khan’s new experiment in “Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi” shows that acting is not everyone’s cup of tea.

A film runs on the basis of the acting skills of the artists, the script, dialogues and songs. If the director/choreographer wants to be an actor and chooses the roles based on friendship in film industry, the movie will be disastrous one.

No doubt, Boman Irani is a fantastic actor, but paired with Farah, who fails to be a good actor when she faces camera on set. It is proved that Farah is specialist in a particular filed choreography, not acting. She might have given break to many artists, but she needs to learn acting from her friend Boman Irani.

The film directed by Bela Bhansali Sehgal revolves around Farhad (Boman Irani) and Shirin (Farah Khan). The 45-year-old Farhad is looking for a girl for marriage, but does not find a right girl. He is willing to wait for Miss perfect.

He works as a salesman in a Bra and Panty shop. His mother wants to see his son married before she closes her eyes forever. As the time passes on, Farhad finds a girl Shirin, who walks in to his shop one day. Initially, his mother does not agree, but later, she gives her consent to his son’s choice.

The film has a few funny moments. The viewers would laugh when Shirin’s father wakes up from a coma almost seven years later and reacts in an abnormal way.

Boman has performed his role with sincerity. But this time, his friend Farah failed to be called an actress. Whenever the camera moves on to her, she is not giving enough to her character.

For the first time, Boman has tried his luck in an off-beat script with his friend Farah. However, sad to say, the film will not fetch any award. Most of the scenes would take us back to the films DIL TO PAGAL HAI, DILWALE DULHANIYA LE JAYEGE and HUM AAPKE HAI KAUN, which suggest that the film lacks creativity.

However, a couple of songs are good. The track ‘Rumba mein samba’ sung by the evergreen Usha Uthup has received good response.
