Vidya Balan’s First Comedy Movie ‘Ghanchakkar’

Vidya Balan is talented enough to appear in widely divergent roles. Yet, ‘The Dirty Picture’ babe will be seen in a completely comedy flick for the first-ever time in her career in ‘Ghanchakkar’. Though the actress had worked earlier with director Raj Kumar Gupta in ‘No One Killed Jessica’, but this is the debut attempt of the director for a light hearted film.

v‘Parineeta’ actress Vidya was noticed for her exceptional acting abilities from her earlier films. However, from ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘Paa’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ she was considerably noticed and it was Milan Luthria’s ‘The Dirty Picture’, which poured her with complete stardom as well as sky high recognition. Her performance in the film met with unanimous acclaim and among other wins, fetched her National Film Award and a Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

From her choice of films, it seems she wants to experiment with her abilities to act in films of completely different genre as well as in roles that are widely different from each other. And in this move, her latest attempt is upcoming comedy flick ‘Ghanchakkar’. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 28th June 2013. This will be Vidya’s first-ever comedy movie. She will again share screen with her TDP mate Emran Hashmi in this film.

The actress recently confessed that after reading the script of ‘Ghanchakkar’, she felt it would be the best film for her to enter the comic genre.
