TNI Bureau: Who says it takes years to construct a building? Wrong. At least in today’s time the latest cutting-edge technology has made it possible to erect a 10-story edifice merely within 48 hours.  Recently this amazing record has been created in Mohali of Punjab and it is the first of its kind in India.

Construction work of the red and grey facade building named ‘INSTACON-10’ was started right at 4.30 P.M. on 29th November 12 and till 4.30 P.M. of 1st December 12, it had already been erected. The amazing structure was made by the Synergy Thrislington infrastructure company and the work was headed by Entrepreneur Harpal Singh, who worked round the clock for two days along with his team of 200 skilled workers, technicians, engineers and using the latest and modern equipments.

Most importantly, the building has been cleared for Zone-V seismic area, the highest risk area for earthquakes.

The achievement hit the headlines for its uniqueness as 48 hours is the minimum time that history has ever witnessed in India to complete the construction of a 10-storey building. They call it a ‘Factory made building’. Before starting of the work, Halpal Singh had claimed to complete the work with the given time span and the promise was successfully delivered.

The place is at an industrial plot in Mohali, 10 kilometers away from Chandigarh. Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal laid its foundation stone and the work then started vigorously. After 24 hours, the building saw seven floors in place. About 80 to 93 % of the work, including Tiling, flooring, smart building wiring etc. was raised in the factory and then the whole stuff was brought to the spot to be fitted with nut and bolts. The building was made of steel.

The building used pre-fabricated material, including 200 tonnes of steel. Mr. Singh’s company, Synergy, took over Britain-based Thrislington Products, a re-locatable steel partition manufacturer, to set up the new infrastructure. As per the builder, no bricks and sand was used in this work. The outer wall is a double-skinned PUF panel.

Singh says, works like Howrah Bridge in Kolkata or Eiffel Tower have been made out of steel and that is the strongest material in lieu of durability, as we are witnessing those for long years as undamaged.

When quipped about the cost of the building, Singh said it depends upon what type of material one will use in the interior and hence, an exact figure of the cost cannot be given, but it definitely is not a costlier one as compared to civil buildings.

The work has set an example that how fast a construction work can be completed.
