The Economic Times has come up with a sensational revelation that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be announced as the Prime Ministerial candidate for 2014 Lok Sabha polls by the end of this month.
Modi will reportedly contest from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. If we believe the reports, veteran leader Murli Manohar Joshi has been convinced to vacate the seat for Modi. Yesterday, Modi had met Joshi at his residence.
The BJP and RSS are trying hard to bring LK Advani and Sushma Swaraj on board to support Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate. They may agree to Modi’s elevation in order to boost BJP’s individual tally in the next elections.
Narendra Modi’s Core Group may include Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari, Ananth Kumar, Venkiah Naidu, Ram Lal, Rajiv Pratap Ruddy and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. However, it is not immediately known whether Advani and Sushma Swaraj will be part of that group or not.
