Shinde refuses to share Headley’s Statement on Ishrat

Probably because of political compulsions, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde refused to share the statement made by 26/11 Terror convict David Coleman Headley on Ishrat Jahan, an alleged LeT terrorist, who was gunned down along with three others in a “fake encounter” in 2004.

ishrat jahan encounterAccording to a leaked NIA (National Investigation Agency), Headley while talking to the Agency in the US during an interrogation, told clearly that Ishrat was linked to LeT and that their operation did not succeed. There is a desperate attempt to hide the truth about Ishrat’s terror links and the focus is being given on the genuineness of the encounter.

Shinde and other Congress top leaders may not want the Headley files to be made public, lest it would strengthen the case of Narendra Modi and the BJP. Shinde said that since there is an agreement between the FBI and NIA over Headley, his government won’t be able to share the details. He neither accepted or rejected the allegations against Ishrat.
