Army funds J&K Ministers to ensure Peace!

In a sensational disclosure, former Army Chief General VK Singh, who is being targeted by a section in the government for sharing the dais with Narendra Modi, has claimed that the Army used to pay the Ministers in Jammu & Kashmir to ensure peace and harmony in the valley. Gen Singh made this statement on leading TV channels TIMES Now and CNN-IBN.

VK SinghVK Singh also revealed that this has been a practice since Independence and there is nothing new it. He even hinted that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah knew about the developments. Many other former defence personnel and security analysts found no surprise in General VK Singh’s revelations, saying everyone knew what the former Army Chief is saying now.

The J&K Government and National Conference (NC) leaders, including Farooq Abdullah have dared VK Singh to name the Ministers who got paid by the Army. They also sought a CBI probe into the matter. Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde too asked VK Singh to reveal the names.

According to Gen VK Singh, the money had been given to the Ministers for social cause. Although the ‘Sadbhavna’ schemes are carried out and monitored by the Army in J&K, the work is being done through the Ministers by passing the funds to them directly.

VK Singh went aggressive after a leaked report on ‘The Indian Express’ alleged that the Technical Support Division (TSD) set up by him, had paid Rs 1.5 crore to state Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hasan Mir to topple the Omar Abdullah government in Jammu & Kashmir. Earlier, he was accused of trying to destablise the Indian government. The General has termed Mir as a ‘nationalist’ and also sought the detailed report through RTI route.
