Last year, Reddy went through severe jolts by the Congress in the disproportionate assets case. The CBI in March 2012 had filed a chargesheet against him alleging Jagan had amassed wealth by misusing his father’s name when YSR was the chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Following the allegations, Jagan was arrested on MAy 27, 2012. Currently, he is lodged in Chanchalguda Central jail along with industrialist Nimmagadda Prasada and senior bureaucrat KV Brahmananda Reddy on corruption charges.
