Amidst high emotions and strong protests against Pakistan, Sarabjit Singh’s body arrived in Amritsar in a special aircraft sent by India. The Pakistani Customs and Anti-Narcotics departments created some hurdles in the departure of the plane, causing a delay of an hour or so.
Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur and many other top leaders were present at the Guru Ram Das Rajasansi International Airport near Amritsar to receive the body.
Sarabjit’s body was later flown to Bhikhiwind in a special night vision chopper where the funeral will be held tomorrow at around 2 PM. Before that, a second post-mortem on his body would be conducted. The Punjab Government has already declared Sarabjit Singh as a martyr. He will be given a state funeral.
