Teachers against Nitish Kumar, Magic Fades?

TNI Bureau:Ever since the Chief Mnister Mr. Nitish Kumar began his statewide tour to address ‘Adhikar Yatra’ to press for a special status to Bihar, he has been facing the wrath of contractual teachers from the day one. Protesting teachers disrupted his public meetings, waved black flags, threw eggs and slippers, and shouted slogans at his public meeting demanding regularisation of their services in Bihar’s Bettiah, Motihari, Madhubani and other venues.

Yesterday, a large-scale violence and arson by contractual teachers and protesters spoiled the Chief Minister’s public meetings in Khagaria and Begusarai districts held to mobilize mass support for grant of special status to the state.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister slammed the protesters saying that these are the people who opposed the development of Bihar, and not happy with the prevailing peaceful law and order situation in the state, and wanted lawlessness to prevail.

While Nitish Kumar may take credit for having restored law and order in the state, the situation on the ground seems to be different.  In fact, his own party-man is showing least regard for the rules.

TV visuals showed former MLA and JD(U) leader Ranvir Yadav wielding a rifle after snatching it from a police constable, during a public meeting. Ranvir Yadav is the husband of current party MLA from Khagaria, Poonam Devi.

Nitish Kumar, however, asserted he would ensure Bihar got special status for the all round development of the state amidst violent protest s and law and order problems.
