Astronomy & Ancient Lore Summit held in Cuttack

TNI Bureau: ‘Bhagyalipi’ organized a congregation of astrologers and researchers on 12th and 13th January 2013, in Cuttack to restore the ever decaying Indian ancient lore and the missing art of Astrology. Eminent resource persons in and out of the state joined the convention where some of the top and renowned persons were honored and epithet.

The Kanti Memorial Astronomy and Ancient Lore convention was held at the Jobra Kalyan Mandap on the eve of the 40th Anniversary of monthly Astrology magazine ‘Bhagyalipi’ and the 31st anniversary of monthly English magazine ‘Planets & Forecasts’. Inaugurating the event, Professor Manorama Mohapatra wished the magazine the best on completion of its 40 years. She also narrated the story of Saint Ramakrushna Paramhansa and Sarda Devi to explain her notion about motherhood.

Chief Guest of the day Sri Satakadi Hota focused on the scientific waves of the ancient lore and how astronomy is capable of maintaining discipline in the society. Renowned literary professor Malvika Roy joined the convention and told about efforts of Kanti Banerjee on the development of ancient lore.

On the eve of this convention while Malvika Roy was awarded the Kanti Banerjee memorial award 2013, Krushnachandra Mohanty of Jajpur was honored with the best essayist of ‘Bhagyalipi’, Dr. Subash Chandra Mohapatra was awarded the ancient lore Sagar samman and renowned Astrologer of Balangir Sri Tikeswar Guru was honored with ‘Jyotirvidyanidhi Samman’ amongst others.

A seminar on ancient lore and Astrology was conducted in the afternoon, which was presided by Sri Tikeshwar Guru. Prof Dr. K.C. Pattanaik, Dr. Dhaneswar Das, Sri Satrughna Hota and Dr. Surendra Mohanty became the analyzers in this programme.

More than hundred articles were read in this function within the two days where famous personalities like P.R. Haldhar from West Bengal, Sachindra Barua from Assam, Labanya Chattopadhya, Dr. Jayant ku Panda, Professor Dr. Birupakshya Ray, Sri Sarat Chandra satapathy, Ashutosh Panigrahi and Bhatrukumar Prafulla took part successfully in the seminar.

Renowned astrologer Dr. Nimai Banerjee wanted the audience to take a vow for the restoration of Astrology and ancient thoughts on the eve of this summit.
