Junior Red Cross Inter-State Level Study-cum-Training Camp concludes

The five-day Inter State Red CrossStudy-cum-Training camp was organized by the Junior Red Cross Unit of the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch at Puri Zilla School, Puri from 15.01.2016 to 19.01.2016. The objective of the camp was to motivate and prepare the Juniors (Junior Red Cross volunteers) for service motivated, disciplined, dedicated and responsible citizens in the contemporary society.

During the five (05) days camp participants were trained on various programme and practices such as History of Red Cross Movement, Fundamental Principles, First Aid, Health & Hygiene, Road Safety & Traffic Rules. Yoga, various competitions also organized during the camp to harness the literary potentiality of the Junior Red Cross volunteers.

Shri Maheswar Mohanty, MLA, Puri graced the inaugural session as the Chief Guest on 15.01.2016.

On 19.01.2016, Dr. Uddhab Chandra Majhi, Additional District Magistrate, DRCB, Puri graced the valedictory function of the camp as the Chief Guest. He congratulated the JRC volunteers and said that Junior Red Cross volunteers should dedicate themselves for the service of vulnerable people in the society.

Dr Chakradhar Panda, Honorary Secretary, IRCS-OSB highlighted various activities of Junior Red Cross, Odisha and highlighted the objectives of the Junior Red Cross and advised to the Juniors to make Red Cross a part of life in his welcome address. Sri Ramakanta Mohapatra read the camp report at the end of the programme.

Smt. Manjulata Behera, Addl. District Education Officer, Puri, Sri Madhusudan Das, Sub Collector Puri and Smt. Manorama Das, Head Master Zilla School Puri joined as Distinguished Guests on this occasion.

The Merit certificates and awards were given to 33 participants qualified in different competitions organized during the five days camp. Besides, Sri Ramakanta Mohapatra, State Resource Person, JRC as Best Resource Person awarded by the Chief Guest.

At the end of the programme vote of thanks offered by Sri Govinda Chandra Mahunta, Honorary Joint Secretary, IRCS-OSB, Junior Red Cross Officer I/c. The five days camp was coordinated by Sri Govinda Chandra Mahunta, Honorary Joint Secretary, IRCS-OSB, Junior Red Cross Officer I/c and assisted by Smt. Gourimani Biswal.
