1) Odisha DGP Prakash Mishra has been shifted as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC). The special DG, police headquarters Sanjib Marik will take over as the new Odisha DGP. According to internal sources, Prakash Mishra’s name has been cleared as the special secretary, Internal Security, Government of India. However, it is not immediately known whether the Odisha Government will relieve him early or not. It can be recalled that Sanjib Marik was suspended in 2007 by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on charges of having alleged nexus with criminals outside the state.

2) Teachers of All Universities of Odisha (TAUO), have urged the Odisha Government to raise their retirement age from 60 years to 65 years as recommended by the UGC.

3) The Odisha Government has directed all District Collectors to initiate tough action against all hoarders and black marketers under the Essential Commodities Act of 1955 to prevent hike in food and vegetable prices.
