TNI Bureau: Humara Bachpan, a network and campaign for safe and healthy physical environment for young children living in urban poverty, conducted an workshop in Bhubaneswar for all itβs network members to discuss on different issues.
The members discussed the issues for Safe, Healthy and Child friendly City Slum. Corporaters, Social Service organisations, govt employees and slum dwellers of different slums also participated and discussed issues related to physical environment for children in city slums.

Members decided to march ahead with the campaign with different steps like Orientating children and communities on JnNURM and RAY and advocating to include child issues in all policies.
All members also discussed on the policies like “Scheme for affordable urban housing in Odisha 2012” and “Odisha Property to slum dwellers and prevention of new slum Bill – 2012” from children perspective and how new recommendations can be given to concerned govt authorities
Participants comprised of representative from NGOs/CBOs, a team from City Level Technical Cell of RAY-BMC, Corporator, community members directly associated with Urban issues in the slums of Bhubaneswar. through a group discussion approach four groups discussed about the Eight Key components of a Healthy Environment and the groups shared their analysis with very good ideas, approaches and strategic activities, which can be consider for the campaign.
