Chennai Super Kings reach IPL 6 Final

The Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 48 runs to enter the IPL 6 final to be held on May 26. Mumbai still have a chance, as they would take on the winner between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in a virtual semifinal. It is Chennai’s 4th straight and fifth overall appearance in the IPL final.

Earlier, Chennai won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 192/1 in 20 overs. Michael Hussey remained unbeaten on 86 off 58 balls. Suresh Raina remained not out on 82 off 42 balls. The duo added unbeaten 140 runs for the second wicket. Murali Vijay scored 23.

In reply, Mumbai lost Aditya Tare early. But Dwayne Smith accelerated the run rate with an explosive 68 off 28 balls. After his dismissal, wickets fell in regular intervals and Mumbai bowled out for 144 in 18.4 overs. Pollard made 24 with two big sixes before getting out. For CSK, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo took three wickets each. Mohit Sharma took two wickets. Mike Hussey was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
