England win Dharamsala ODI, India win Series

TNI Bureau: England got a consolation win with an emphatic seven-wicket victory ove India in the fifth and final ODI in Dharamsala. However, India won the series 3-2. Ian Bell scored an unbeaten hundred.

Earlier, England won the toss and elected to field first. Rohit, Kohli and Yuvraj failed with the bat. Gambhir scored just 24. India were 79/5 at one stage. Suresh Raina scored a superb 83 to power India to 226 in 49.4 overs. Bresnan took four wickets, while Finn and Tredwell took two wickets. Jadeja scored 39, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar made 31.

Chasing a victory target of 227, England lost a couple of wickets early, but Ian Bell scored an unbeaten 113 to ensure England’s victory. England reached 227/3 in 47.2 overs. Root scored 31. Morgan remained unbeaten on 40.

Ian Bell was declared ‘Man of the Match’. Suresh Raina was declared ‘Man of the Series’.
