It could be termed as a rare achievement for a blessed cricketer like Harbhajan Singh, who made his 100th Test appearance in Chennai today against his bitter foes – The Kangaroos. Interestingly, Bhajji made his test debut against the same team (Australia) on March 25, 1998.
Harbhajan has taken 406 Test wickets so far with a career-best bowling performance of 8/84. He has take 5 wickets in an innings 25 times and 10 wickets in a match 5 times. In addition, he has taken 42 catches so far. In batting too, Harbhajan has showed some skills.
He has scored 2,185 runs with two hundreds and 9 fifties with a top score of 115. It would be interesting to see whether he can justify his selection ahead of Pragyan Ojha in the Chennai Test.
In the first test match in Chennai today, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. They were 114/2 wwhen reports last received. Warner was batting on 51. Ashwin took both wickets.
