“Puppet” Dhoni keeps Mum on Spot Fixing

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was always considered as an invincible lion, who never gives up and takes up new challenges with much spirit and enthusiasm. However, he turned out to be a “puppet” in the hands of BCCI and just followed the top brass’ instructions at the press conference on May 28.

Dhoni did not evade any questions on spot fixing, rather he was not allowed to speak. The person in charge of the presser, controlled his answers. He did not allow Dhoni to speak and restrained him. Dhoni was ordered to keep a mum and he did it with a mystery smile. Media Manager R.N. Baba, who is close to N Srinivasan and one of the influential people in Tamil Nadu Cricket and also the father of Baba Aparajit, a member of India’s U-19 team and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

People, who know Dhoni, had tears in their eyes to see a “puppet” maintaining a stoic silence over all questions and allowing himself to be manipulated by the BCCI. Many experts believed that he would rather step down to uphold his dignity and self esteem instead of letting his own image to be tarnished beyond repair.

Dhoni did not answer to the questions on spot fixing and Vindoo Dara Singh. But, his body language showed that he has been under tremendous pressure to remain silent and speak on only questions related to ICC Champions Trophy. Srinivasan rules the roost yet again.
