Services upset Uttar Pradesh in Ranji Trophy

TNI Bureau: The Services stunned Uttar Pradesh in the quarterfinals of Ranji Trophy to make an entry to the semifinals first time since 1968. Uttar Pradesh, which dominated Ranji Trophy season in group stages, faltered at the last hurdle.

Services needed just 113 runs to win the match and they did it by losing five wickets. At one stage, they slumped to 54/5, thanks to UP pacer Ankit Rajput, who took 10 wickets in the match. However, Soumik Chatterjee (34*) and Rajat Paliwal (32*) prevented further damage and saw their team through.
