Sunita Williams returns to Earth after 127 Days in Space

TNI Bureau: Indian-American NASA astronaut Sunita Williams returned to Earth safely after spending four months in space. She along with Russian Soyuz Commander Yuri Malenchenko and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency cosmonaut Aki Hoshide landed in the steppe of Kazakhstan at 8.56 pm EST (7.29 am IST).

The three made a safe landing after spending four months in orbit. They were on a mission to conduct research and exploration aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Sunita handed over the command of the space station to NASA astronaut Kevin Ford before leaving the ISS on Saturday. She was in space for 127 days since the space craft was launched from Kazakhstan on July 15.
