TNI Bureau: Actor of the century Amitabh Bachchan has turned 70 today. He celebrated his birthday with family members, top celebrities, dignitaries and media in a grand manner in Mumbai last night. Even though, he wanted to make it a low key affair, his wife Jaya Bachchan organised a grand party for her husband. His Twitter and Facebook pages were full of wishes even in advance and after 12 midnight.
Initiating his voyage of acting from ‘Saat Hindustani’ in 1969 Big B has presented several blockbusters in Bollywood. But his journey was full of hurdles. While he stabbed himself during the shoot of an action scene of ‘Coolie’ in 1982, the great actor miserably failed as an entrepreneur in course of the first ever mega event, the Miss World Pageant in 1996 organized by his company ABCL Limited.
The great actor could not prove himself as a politician even. But all these failures can be accepted as blessings in disguise for the passionate and huge fans of Bachchan across the world, since if he would have gained success there, we might not have got the valued chance of watching his great talent in these years.
Amitabh Bachchan is the brand which can make a film super hit without the help of any khan, macho-actor, dancing star, gorgeous heroine or even item number. In his 70 even, he is the most saleable star.
Amitabh Bachchan was born on 11th of October, 1942 and today he is celebrating his 70th birthday. But it will be wrong to say that he is celebrating, rather his fans, family members and whole Bollywood is celebrating the occasion more than him and this has turned to a festival.
As per reports, Bachchan sir is not that much interested for a pompous observation of his birthday but he definitely respects the wish of his family members and fans, who want to go wild at their dear one’s bash.
On asking about his birthday plans and gifts, Amitabh reportedly mentioned that he looks forward to spending time with his family. And regarding the birthday gifts, Bachchan’s view is that blessings of his parents and their presence in his life are the greatest gift to him. These blessings mean a lot to him.
“A million interviews, a million good wishes and a million desires of continuance… birthday at 70 seems special to some. Just another day for me,” tweeted Big B.
However, two special birthday gifts worth a mention despite Bachchan’s humble view towards birthday gift.
Raj Kapoor Chitera, 26, a resident of Allahabad, Amitabh’s native, who happens to be a die-hard fan of Big B, has made a 70-foot oil painting that will show various milestones in Bachchan’s personal and professional life to mark the superstar’s 70th birthday.
The second big gift is – Techzone, the company, which owns exclusive rights for most of Bollywood entertainment content, has developed a new ‘Big B’ app that promises to satisfy his fans’ desire for Big B related content.
The service will be launched on the eve of Amitabh Bachchan’s much hyped 70th birthday. This is a tribute to the Bollywood Shahenshah as per Techzone. Fans of the megastar across the world will be able to get closer to him with the aid of a new mobile phone application using this app.
‘The News Insight’ is wishing many many happy returns of the day to Big B, the living legend on his 70th birthday.
