One of the suspects in the Boston marathon bombings was captured by the police and later died in a hospital following the gunfire and explosions, which erupted after the killing of a cop near the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Friday.

The suspect was caught in Watertown near Boston. However, another one is still at large. He is believed to have been connected to Monday’s Boston Marathon bombing.

A major manhunt was launched after the death of a police officer at the institute campus. Police were chasing the second one. The gunfire and blasts were heard for the miles. The police sealed off the area. The residents of Watertown have been told to remain inside.

However, it is not clear whether there was any link between the MIT shooting and Monday’s bombings in which three people were killed and over 160 were injured.

The manhunt operation came only hours after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released photos of two suspects, who were believed to have planted the bombs.
